International Telephone Call
Those who come to work or study in Japan will have many opportunities to make international calls after their arrival in Japan. To install a new telephone set at home, it is necessary to contact a Japanese telephone company such as NTT, KDDI, and SOFTBANK TELECOM. For application, submission of a copy of a passport or Alien Registration card will be required for ID confirmation purposes.
By gathering information about Japanese telephone companies beforehand, you will know which among them best suits your needs. It is also a good idea to ask Japanese residents for advice.
Deposit and installation fees will be charged to those who use international telephone services. In some case, foreigners may be requested to submit a certification of their address and/or their passport.
