Transferring to a New School in a Home Country

When non-Japanese families move back to their home country after living in Japan due to business relocation, many parents tend to worry if adaptation problems occur for their children when they transfer to a new school in the home country.

By taking school schedule in a home country into consideration, families with children will have enough time for going through necessary procedures for transferring to a new school. Children who are accustomed to a Japanese school may feel great differences (”culture shock”), and find it too difficult to adapt when exposed to a new environmental setting only after an extremely short period of time spent.

It is ideal to be back home a semester earlier or so to have adequate time before transferring to a new school in the home county both in terms of administrative and mental preparations.
